Привет, мой друг! My name is Marina Semyonova, that's Марина Тимофеевна Семёнова in Russian. I am one of the first Russian trained prima ballerinas ever!
I was a student of Agrippina Vagonova (the originator of the Vagonova style of Ballet), then I went on to dance at the very famous Kirov Ballet. In 1930 I moved on to dance at the Bolshoi Theatre, one of the greatest ballet companies in the world, which was and still is some of the best years of my life.
I've danced many principal roles such as Odette/Odile in "Swan Lake," Princess Aurora and Princess Florine in "Sleeping Beauty," Giselle in "Giselle," and many more. I look forward to continue dancing until I truly can't dance any more. But, even then, I will stay in the world of dance as long as I can; maybe I'll teach or maybe I'll direct.
I enjoyed every day of dancing, though the life of a dancer is anything but easy. I love my art so much.
Well I'd better head off to rehearsal!
До свидания!
